General Information/History

Miss Hawaii's Outstanding Teen is a unique program, unlike any other program of its kind in the State of Hawaii. Our volunteers participate in supporting each and every young lady who invests in herself by joining our program. We are proud to be an organization that rewards teens for their accomplishments in scholastics, community service, living a healthy lifestyle and developing their creative talents. It is a honor to be associated with the outstanding teens from across our island State.

The young women who participate in this organization are leaders among their peers and in their schools and communities. They excel on every level and our programs offer them an opportunity to showcase their outstanding accomplishments and reward them for their efforts.

Scholastic Achievement.
Education is the cornerstone of success. Our organization rewards those who study and work hard to be the best they can be. With the assistance of our scholarship donors, Miss Hawaii's Outstanding Teen has awarded thousands of dollars to Hawaii students seeking to pursue higher education. And, our national organization, the Miss America's Outstanding Teen program has awarded over $338,000 on the National level and State levels.

Creative Accomplishment.
All of our participants have discovered the benefit of developing their creative side. Whether dancing, playing an instrument, singing or some other creative endeavor, we reward their efforts with additional scholarships for their dedication to the arts.

Community Involvement.
Each participant is required to serve within their communities. The National Platform of the Children's Miracle Network benefits children receiving assistance through Kapi'olani Children's Miracle Network locally here in Hawaii.

Healthy Living.
We all know the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The participants in Miss Hawaii's Outstanding Teen are no different. They have made a commitment to take care of themselves and encourage others around them to do the same.

Miss Hawaii's Outstanding Teen Legacy

"Having the prestigious title of Miss Hawaii’s Outstanding Teen has given me the opportunity to make a difference in communities across Hawaii. I have held the honor of serving as a role model for young women of Hawaii by advocating for education, especially for young women in poverty. Education is the key to a bright future for all. I will always cherish my title as I pursue higher education, and continue my service to the community. These experiences have shaped me into an industrious young woman who will continue to pursue my goals in my own bright future."
